Art mindfulness is a practice that combines elements of mindfulness with artistic expression. It involves being fully present and engaged in the process of creating or experiencing art, allowing individuals to focus on the moment and express their thoughts and emotions. This can include activities like painting, drawing, or even appreciating art in a way that emphasizes awareness and reflection.
The benefits of art mindfulness include stress reduction, increased creativity, and a deeper connection to one’s emotions. By focusing on the sensory experience—colours, textures, sounds—participants can cultivate a sense of calm and clarity, making it a powerful tool for personal growth and well-being.
We offer Art Mindfulness Sessions at Disability Destinations, for people of all ages, and walks of life, including for NDIS participants, and the general public. Sessions run for 2 hours (or longer if requested), and include:
- Meditative Art
- Zentangle Art
- Fluid Ink Art
All materials are supplied, although you are welcome to bring your own if you wish. Please discuss this with us before arriving.
Sessions are currently held at Seaford Heights in South Australia. Transport can be arranged if required.
